I wasn’t trying to make light of what you went through. Just trying to snap you out of your head space. […] Let’s get a drink. You talk, I’ll listen.
I love the fact that he always tries to help her as much as he can. He has always tried to help her. Even in Recoil, when the two of them were close, but not as close as now and not as used to talk about personal issues as now, he was there for her. He was trying to do something for her. He was trying to distract her offering her a drink. He was trying to make her feel a little better, just making her smile - which is a thing he has always been capable of. He was offering her a listening ear, which was all he could give her but which he hoped could be enough. He offered a listening ear then, and he offers her a shoulder to cry on in Swan Song. So yes, a lot has changed, but a thing hasn’t: he was there for her, he is there for her now.
He loved her then, he loves her now.
He always has.
